Course Overview



This introductory Point-of-Care Ultrasound (PoCUS) course is tailored specifically for healthcare providers working in acute care environments, including Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Critical Care, and Surgery. The course equips doctors and nurses with foundational ultrasound knowledge and essential hands-on skills, serving as the initial step toward achieving the cPoCUS Independent Practitioner (IP) certification.



During this one-day intensive training, participants will gain proficiency in performing focused ultrasound examinations at the bedside. The curriculum includes practical training in cardiac ultrasound (evaluating global cardiac function and detecting pericardial effusions), abdominal ultrasound (screening for abdominal aortic aneurysms and intra-abdominal hemorrhage), and thoracic ultrasound (identifying pneumothorax and pleural effusions).
